April 4-6, 2003 Spring National Inaugural Horse Show - pictures and show details. March 15, 2003 Jacquie and Spirit worked on a triple today. It was a challenging task, but by the end of the lesson they were catching on. Click here to see the video. March 8, 2003 Jacquie and Spirit are working towards participating in Pony Jumpers at the April show in Monroe. Today they worked on a series of three jumps and were fantastic together. Click here to see the video. February 27th, 2003 After lots of hard work and dedication, Spirit is back! Jacquie and Spirit jumped from the first time since his surgery last December. They worked over small crossbars and he was perfect. No signs of any ill effects from his surgery. He looks perfectly sound. December 18, 2002 Spirit's injury was more serious than initial thought. He fractured his split bone and had surgery today to remove the bone fragments. The surgery went well and he is expected to make a full recovery. December 8, 2002 Spirit has a leg injury, so Jacquie wasn't able to ride him. She rode Scotch for her lesson and did some jumping work. Click here to see them jumping 2' 6". November 27, 2002 Here is a shot of Jacquie jumping during her lesson. She and Spirit are having a great time jumping.
October 31, 2002 Jacquie choice to be a jockey for Halloween and sported her outfit during her lesson today. The helmet cover, jacket and tall boots were all items that we had to round up for the costume. Even though the boots are a couple of sizes too big, she wanted to ride with them. During their lesson today, they continued to practice working on an even pace and jumping a few jumps. At the end of the lesson, the two of them jumped basically 2' 6" (the jumped measured at 2' 5"). This was her 2nd time at this height - they did a couple of jumps this high last week as well. Jacquie is enjoying this work.
