Jacquie and Christine attended the Collinswood Schooling
show today. We brought both Spirit and JR. Jacquie rode Spirit
in 4 jumping classes. He was basically a brat and only behaved in one
class - the short stirrup hunter course. In the other 3 classes, he
did his favorite "duck the first jump of the outside line"
trick. They looked great over all the other jumps. In
the one course they did complete, they placed 5th out of about 15-16
people.
Jacquie also rode JR in his first flat classes - short
stirrup under saddle, short stirrup equitation and walk/trot. His
canter work wasn't the best as he was a little quick and didn't want to slow
down. His trot work improved with every class. By the time they did
the walk/trot class, his trot had slowed down considerably. They
looked great. (Jacquie and 2 other girls from the short stirrup classes
rode with Christine, so she wouldn't have to ride by herself.)
Christine rode Spirit in her first Walk/Trot
class. He was a pretty speedy pony, but they had a great
time. They placed first. She is very excited about showing and
wants to goto more shows!
